Trick or Treat!

From my junior year of high school to my junior year of college, I wore the same costume. I can only find three pictures but I know I was a pilot at least five times!
Don't get me wrong, I loved being a pilot, but for my senior year of college, I really wanted a new costume! I knew I wanted to wear a tutu but I wasn't sure what I wanted to be. While laying out at the pool (yes, I spent a couple of months thinking about what I wanted to be for Halloween), I decided that I would be batgirl! My mom had an adorable batgirl costume that she wore to her cousin's Halloween party a couple of years ago, but I didn't want to wear the store-bought costume. I asked my mom if I could turn her generic batgirl costume into a bedazzled batgirl costume!
I went to Hobby Lobby and spent about $20 on the supplies that I needed to transform my mom's costume. I got two yellow rolls of tulle, one roll of regular black tulle, and one roll of sparkly black tulle plus elastic for the waistband and some black sequin trim. I already had the glue and rhinestones that I needed to bedazzle my mom's costume.
A few weekends ago, I made my tutu and bedazzled my costume at Brandon's apartment while he was getting ready for a hockey game. He doesn't love glitter as much as I do so he wasn't too thrilled about me crafting on his bed and desk. I spread a blanket across his bed so that the sparkly tulle wouldn't get glitter all over his comforter. The blanket definitely helped but there was still glitter everywhere - I absolutely loved it! I made the tutu by tying the elastic to fit around my waist then I started with the yellow tulle then alternated the regular black and sparkly black between the yellows! I finished my tutu by using a needle and thread to sew the sequins around the waistband. I used craft glue and rhinestones to bedazzle the outline of the batman symbol!

I wore my bedazzled batgirl costume three times! First, I dressed up the weekend before Halloween to go to a hockey party then I dressed up on Halloween and lastly, I dressed up the day after to go some friends' house! This was by far the best Halloween ever!
