Scotland from My POV

September 2022 // Scotland
While the rest of us were in the Outer Banks, Sam made his way to Scotland. Well before he left town, we tried to find a way to condense that Sam was headed on his dream golf trip with his sister-in-law's father-in-law. This became even more complicated when Mark Scott's flight was delayed by an entire day, and Sam was trying to explain to Mark's friends how he knows Mark. Ha!

I wanted Sam to guest write this post, but that never happened so here is a Scotland recap from my POV.

There were several guys on the trip - lots of doctors and mostly in their 60s. Although I think Sam's back frequently hurts as if he were 60+. They stayed and played at The Renaissance Club. A few of the other courses they played were Gullane, Dunbar and Turnberry. Gullane was Sam's #1. Sam has many passions in life. Golf is definitely one of them, but he did say this was a lot of golf even for an avid player. The weather conditions are also wild. It will downpour and be freezing then rapidly change to warm and sunny.

Despite not sleeping much on the plane, Sam didn't have jetlag. I was worried about this! The only real downside to the trip was an injured tailbone, which I got to hear about for weeks after Sam got home. As he was scooting out of a shuttle, he sat on the seatbelt buckle - ouch.

Notable mention: Queen Elizabeth II died in Scotland during their trip.

Overall, big thanks to Mark Scott - and Brett and Kelsey for the connection. Ha! We love the Scotts, and Sam loves Scotland!

xo, KD
