Girly Girl

I spent almost a week in Dallas with Brandon visiting his friends and my best friend, Kristen. We barely left Brandon's house, but we were so busy! There was only one night that we were able to get to bed before 2! We had a blast spending time with old friends laughing and hanging out by the pool. We left Dallas on Sunday morning at 9 so that I could make it back to Tulsa by 2 for my cousin's 2nd birthday party!

I had the house to myself on Monday evening so I thought that I would craft while I watched the finale of The Bachelorette. Anyone that knows me knows that I rarely sit and watch TV so I was going to make a door decoration for my apartment while I watched TV. I decided that I was going to buy a wooden "K", some twine, and some felt to make flowers with.

I began my girly evening by going to Hobby Lobby around 6 so that I could make it home for the start of the show at 7. At Hobby Lobby, I picked up my supplies for $8.70. I was really proud that I got everything that I needed for under $10!
I think The Bachelorette was supposed to last 3 hours. I didn't think there was anyway that my simple craft would take that long! I started by creating three felt flowers. When I had completed two of them, I got a call from my dad. The battery is his farm truck had died and he needed me to take him to the store to buy a new one. An auto parts store was not what I had in mind for my relaxing, girly evening! I was gone for about an hour. Luckily, I was able to come home and watch the last hour of The Bachelorette. Although I haven't watched much of this season, I always love a romantic proposal!

I finished up my last felt flower and thought that it would take me no time to wrap the twine around the letter. Two hours, a few hot-glue-gun burns and a couple of super-glued fingers later, I had about five strands on the letter! I spent a couple of hours on Tuesday figuring out the most practical way to glue the twine and today I added the finishing touches!
I can't wait to hang our new crimson and cream door decoration! It'll be perfect for game days!
