let me tell you about my best friend's blog
Before I tell you about my best friend's blog, let me tell you about my best friend, Kristen!
We've cried & we've laughed & we've cried because we laughed.

As I have mentioned before, Kristen and I met our freshman year when we moved into the dorms at OU. We were suitemates, which means we shared a bathroom. At OU, you get to choose your roommate but your suitemates are chosen at random. I had heard horror stories about suitemates. I was terrified of who I might be sharing a bathroom with so I put my name on everything I owned, which Kristen later made fun of me for!
I got lucky - my suitemate became my soul mate! It wasn't until April 2, 2011 that we became besties. I spent most of my freshman year at home and because I was still skeptical of my suitemates, I avoided them! On April 2, Kristen and I went to eat dinner at Ted's Café Escondido. She shared a personal yet hilarious story with me, I shared a personal yet hilarious story with her, and the rest is history!
Throughout college, Kristen and I have grown inseparable. We have scared lots of waiters and caught several of our friends off-guard because we answer questions with the same response, at the same pitch, at the same time! It's also common for us to finish each other's sentences, but after all we do live together and take every class together so it only makes sense that we think and act just alike!
Kristen and I do have a couple of differences, but most of our differences are things that we just can't help! For example, Kristen has a small family, but anyone who knows me knows that I have a big family so we have adopted Kristen! A second difference is that Kristen has the ability to be completely oblivious to her surroundings, and I am probably too observant. I have learned that if there is anything or anyone that I want Kristen to see, I have to whisper to her or grab her arm to make sure she sees!
Another one of our differences is that we are productive at different times during the day. I am most productive early in the morning and well, Kristen is most productive early in the morning too, but my early is like 7:00 a.m. and hers is like 2 a.m. meaning she doesn't go to bed until hours after me! There have been nights when Kristen and I have only been asleep at the same time for a couple of hours!
Our different sleep schedules are somewhat reflective of our biggest difference: rate of action. I consider myself an early bird and Kristen a procrastinator. I can say this because she is my best friend and it's true! We talk about it all the time! I do everything at a high rate of speed and Kristen just does everything at a slower rate! Not only do I do things like walk and eat fast, but I always finish my homework first, but not because Kristen does her homework slow - she actually does her homework really fast because she waits until the last minute to do it!
Kristen and I joke that if your name doesn't start with the letter K and you don't have long brown hair then you can't be our friend! Well, we might both have long brown hair, but it's different - her hair takes much longer to dry and straighten so I have spent many minutes waiting for her to finish getting ready so that we can leave! Kristen and I like to think that our differences have helped one another! I have helped her to do her homework (a little bit) earlier and rushed her out the door and she has helped me to realize that it's ok to be 5 or 10 minutes late, even if it is to class in one of the biggest lecture halls at OU!
I know I told you that I was going to talk about Kristen's blog, but it only made sense to tell you a little bit about us and our differences first! Kristen and I have both been told throughout our college experience that we needed to start a blog. I will admit that we both put it off for a while but I finally caved and started mine in July and she didn't cave until sometime last semester! Her first post was supposed to be on New Year's Day, but it wouldn't be Kristen if it were on schedule so she posted for the first time on the 3rd!
My best friend's blog is called Today Calls for a Celebration! The purpose behind her blog is to emphasize that there is something worth celebrating every day. As much as I would love to tell you more about her blog, there is no way I could explain anything else about it or tell the story behind its creation as well as she has. Click the link above to see how cute her blog is and be sure to read the "About Me" and her first post to learn more about my best friend and her blog!
Kristen and I are not looking forward to graduating in May because not only does it mean that we have to get big girl jobs but it means that she will most likely be going home to Dallas and I am more than likely going home to Tulsa. We are constantly trying to persuade one another to move to the other's hometown, but so far, no luck for either of us!
Despite the 250 miles that may stand between us in just a few months, we recently promised each other that we would not be Christmas-card friends, you know, the kind of friends who only see or communicate with each other once a year and it's via their Christmas photo card. That being said, cheers to being forever friends and to our new hobby, blogging!
