Pinks + Purples Instead of Winter Blues

by - February 01, 2014

This past week was busy, but boring and not to mention bitter cold! Don't get me wrong, I love only having class Monday – Wednesday and having a four-day weekend, but the three days that I spend in class are long and exhausting and I don't get much homework accomplished so I spend Thursdays and Fridays being productive.

On Thursday, I spent the day anxiously waiting for my teacher to post a PowerPoint so that I could begin working on a report that is due in a couple of weeks. My teacher never posted the slides so I spent most of the day in my room accomplishing unfulfilling tasks. Between the week's bitter cold weather, my time-consuming school schedule, and the stress from my report, I developed a case of the winter blues.

By Thursday night, I began thinking that all of February has the potential of being just like last week. The weather will be cold, my schedule will still be exhausting, and I'm going to have the stress of school assignments, but at 8:30 p.m., I decided that I wasn't going to let February be drab!

By 8:32 I had printed off a 20% off coupon and was running (literally) to Ulta to grab a new bottle of nail polish! As I jumped in my car, I had 26 minutes to get to Ulta and to pick out a nail polish. While driving, I prayed, "Lord, I pray for your protection and safety. Please protect others and me from accidents and injuries. Please guide me to the Essie Nail Polish and help me to find the perfect shade of crimson!" Ask and you shall receive! Our God is a faithful!

On my way to Ulta, I began making mental notes of what I would do to make sure February was fabulous! I love a mini challenge so here is what I've decided:

Cupid is coming. To countdown until Valentine's Day, I am going to wear something pink, purple or red everyday! It may be as obvious as my coat or pants or as subtle as my accessories!

Glitz & Glam. I'll only paint my nails shades of pink, purple and red and when the occasion is right, I'll make sure my lips match!
Pops of Pink + Purple

Goodbye Cabin Fever. To entertain myself when it's too cold to go outside, I'm going to make tassel garland to decorate our apartment for Valentine's Day!

Be Mine. I'm going to send hand-written Valentine's cards to my family!

XOXO. On Valentine's Day, I plan to celebrate LOVE by making yummy drinks and maybe some sweet treats!

Cheers to a Fab Feb!
