Getaway: Copper Mountain, again

February 2018 // Copper Mountain
Another annual ski trip in the books.

We took more breaks than normal this year because it was exceptionally cold. On Saturday, the high was 8° and the low was 0°. The coldest temperatures that I have ever experienced!

The mountain had a few changes this year. You no longer wear your lift tickets. Instead, you put the card inside your coat pocket and the lift reads it when you ski up. They also changed their ski and boot rental, which was so nice because it allowed us to return our gear each night, instead of carrying it to and from the mountain.

Our trip ended crazily. We scheduled plenty of time to ski a full day then drive back to Denver to fly home. However, we did not anticipate extreme traffic delays. As soon as we left the mountain, we saw warning signs. We quickly changed in the hotel then got in the rental car to drive to the airport. I've never had so much anxiety. Kels and dad left a half hour after me. I had to cut the entire security line to get to my plane in time, but we made it!

Been There Done That: as always, it was a fun trip filled with minimal rest and lots of skiing!
