Getaway: Hawaii
Sam took his mom to Hawaii in September and wanted to go back. I was not going to let him go a second time without me! Because he had just been there, he knew exactly where to stay and what to eat and do.
Been There Done That:
See + Do
Beach at the Ritz Carlton: all of the beaches in Hawaii are public so we went to the Ritz to lay on the beach and eat lunch. We saw a life medic helicopter land and rescue an injured surfer. Scary, but cool to watch.
Golf at Kapalua: the course has the best views! It overlooks the beach and mountains. From some of the holes, we could see whales in the middle of the ocean.
Eat
Coffee: we bought coffee beans and ground them at the condo every morning. It was so good that I drank it black (never happens)!
The Fish Market: the yummiest. We ate here three times.
Flatbread Company: you get to watch them make and bake your pizza.
Cafe Mambo: a fun little happy hour spot with good appetizers and margs.
Stay
Paia: the quaint surf town where we stayed. We rented an Airbnb that was so organized and fully stocked. She had drinks in the fridge and plenty of cookware. There were beach chairs there, too!
