In my For A Good Cause post, I explained what TAG is and why I'm so passionate about it. I also mentioned that Kristen and I were going to co-chair Derby. Well, that happened!
The 2018 Derby fell on Cinco de Mayo, which is only fitting for two gals who love tex-mex and margs. The event was from 4-8 o'clock at the Camp House at the Dallas Arboretum. The party featured all of the Kentucky Derby essentials with a Cinco de Mayo twist. We had an open bar, southern comfort food and tex-mex. There was a silent auction, lawn games, DJ and a photo station.

TAG Members voted to fund Strategic Memory Advanced Reasoning Training (SMART), a high-performance brain training program and mindfulness training for the Dallas Police Department. We were able to donate $25,000 to the program.

So many of our friends showed support by coming to the event and bringing their friends, donating or purchasing auction items and sending cookies and texts when we were crazy stressed. Kristen and I were overwhelmed by all of the support and overjoyed with how the event turned out!

When we graduated college, I told Kristen that we were going to be Derby Co-chairs and TAG Co-presidents. She laughed. What I meant was that one year we would co-chair Derby and another year we would serve as co-presidents. 2019 has given us the "opportunity" to do both. Now, we're both laughing very nervous laughs. But we're ready to do it all over again at the same time and place on May 4, 2019! One month from today! Save the date. Like I said in For A Good Cause, nobody is safe when it comes to Derby asks!
