Dodge Lodge Reno: the start

by - August 31, 2020

I'm trying to stick to my goal of writing once a month! Life lately has been all about putting lipstick on the pig aka the lake house. At the start of the WFH phase, I spent most of my time inside deep cleaning. After using up all of our Clorox Wipes and about a thousand Magic Erasers, I started obsessing over freshening the place up.

The week of our wedding, we tackled the half bath. The previous owners had paint sprayed over three layers of wallpaper and the popcorn ceilings. That should be illegal. Ha! By the time the fresh paint dried, I was ready for the next room.

We started the laundry room right before we left for Michigan and wrapped it up when we got back. Meanwhile, during our trip, we had painters working on the kitchen cabinets. More on that later! The laundry room was so dingy before. This is the entrance from the garage so it's nice to come home to a lighter and brighter space!

After the laundry room, Sam said that we were done with projects for a while. That very evening, I ran an errand and while I was gone, he emptied the guest bathroom and started prepping it for paint. Ha!

In between these projects, we've put a fresh coat of paint on the fireplace and most of the woodwork. I also painted our master bathroom. We still have a lot of painting to do, but working from home during the pandemic has put us 2-3 years ahead of schedule on home projects. They give me something to look forward to everyday!
