2,295 miles and 41 hours later, we made our way from Dallas to Kansas City to Stony Lake and back. We were determined to keep the annual Dodge family vacay alive. 

This year looked a little different than last year. There were only 12 of us compared to last year's 27. My Out of Office post best describes Stony Lake, and this trip was even more peaceful. Working from home granted us the opportunity to leave town for 11 days – a full week of R+R! 

Our days consisted of waking up, golfing for Sam/working out for me then parking it on the beach from 10:30 until 5:15. Home-cooked dinner was at 6:15, and we found ourselves back on the beach before sunset. 

I can't get enough of the beach, but the highlight of my trip was riding in the sand dunes. I seriously had so much fun! One side of the dunes is hills and the other side is Lake Michigan. 

In Hawaii at New Year's, Sam mentioned to his mom and me that he wanted to drive to Michigan and bring his jet ski. At the time, it seemed impossible, but then COVID. Having it there was worth the hassle of getting it there!
